I am a rock climber and rock climbing instructor based in Devon. I’ve been working as a climbing instructor since the age of eighteen but my passion for climbing began four years prior to that at an inter school’s climbing competition. I joined my school’s team last minute after having no interest in climbing before then, I’ve not stopped climbing since.
At around the age of sixteen I naturally progressed to climbing outside, due to my location this inescapably led to me learning to trad climb. I would be off climbing all over the coast every week in between work and college, and soon managed to tick some classic test pieces for example “Nose Decay” E4 6a. But as I got stronger as a climber my psyche for trad climbing dwindled and I started predominantly to boulder.
My passion for bouldering remains strong. I have climbed all over the South West and further afield crossing off problems from my tick list, some of the best being; “Path of Daggers” 7C+, “The End is Nigh” 8A, “AWOL Apprentice” 7C and “Red Quinne” 7C. I am often exploring new venues and developing new problems and have managed to put up a number of first ascents, some of my proudest being; “The Day that Never Comes” 7B+, “Escaping Gravity” 7B and “Visions of Anarchy “ 7B.
